What principles define how you live?

I’ve never been one for rigid principles or lofty declarations. I don’t carry a personal manifesto or a list of rules etched in stone. But I do hold a quiet saying close to heart—one that guides how I move through the world: respect bounties in this world that everyone or everybody have entitlement. It’s not polished or poetic, but it’s real. It reminds me that the world is abundant, and that abundance isn’t meant to be hoarded or gatekept—it’s meant to be honored, shared, and respected.

This saying shapes how I see people, places, and possibilities. It’s a call to humility: to recognize that no one is more entitled to beauty, safety, or nourishment than another. Whether it’s food, love, rest, or opportunity, I believe these bounties belong to all of us—not just the loudest, the richest, or the most visible. When I cook, I think about comfort as a birthright. When I write, I think about truth as something we all deserve to speak and hear. It’s not about perfection—it’s about presence and permission.

Living this way means I notice things others might overlook. A quiet moment of peace. A stranger’s resilience. A friend’s unspoken need. I try to honor these bounties not by claiming them, but by respecting their existence and making space for others to access them too. It’s why I value emotional safety in relationships, why I advocate for fairness in systems, and why I resist performative connection. Entitlement, in this sense, isn’t arrogance—it’s a recognition of shared humanity.

I don’t always get it right. Sometimes I forget the abundance. Sometimes I shrink or overextend. But this saying pulls me back. It reminds me that I don’t need to hustle for worth or compete for care. It reminds me that others don’t either. We’re all here, trying to live, trying to belong. And the world—if we let it—has enough. Enough warmth. Enough wisdom. Enough room.

So no, I don’t have special principles. But I have this: a quiet belief that the world’s bounties are for everyone. That respect begins with recognition. That entitlement, when rooted in dignity, is not a flaw but a foundation. And that living well means living with open eyes, open hands, and an open heart.

The essential principles of life have also been “violated” by me, specifically, so that I can live life on my own terms in a less structured manner.
