Savor the Story, Stir the Soul

Fresh Greens and Creamy Vinaigrette Salad

Some salads are soft-spoken. This one has presence. It’s the kind of plate I make when I want something bold but balanced—hearty ham, fresh greens, a touch of cheese, and my favorite sauce to pull it all together. It’s not trying to be fancy. It’s trying to be enough.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup cooked ham, diced or shredded
  • A mix of fresh greens (spinach, arugula, romaine—whatever’s on hand)
  • A handful of shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or something sharp)
  • Your favorite sauce or dressing (mine is a creamy mustard vinaigrette with a hint of garlic)

Assembly
Layer the greens first—let them breathe. Add the ham like punctuation, then scatter the cheese for richness. Drizzle your sauce slowly, letting it settle into the folds. No rush. No excess. Just enough to feel grounded.

Why I Make It
This salad is a quiet kind of bold. The ham brings depth, the greens offer freshness, and the cheese adds comfort. The sauce? That’s the signature. It’s the part that says “this is mine.” I make it when I want to feel steady. When I need a plate that reflects structure and ease.
