Savor the Story, Stir the Soul

Nourishing Composed Salad Recipe: Layers of Flavor

Some salads are tossed. This one is composed. It’s a plate that invites pause—a visual rhythm of protein, greens, and comfort, layered side by side like a quiet conversation. I make it when I want something nourishing and beautiful. Something that feels like care, not chaos.

Ingredients

  • 2 boiled eggs, sliced
  • 3 strips of crisp bacon, crumbled or layered whole
  • ½ cup shredded or cubed cheese (cheddar, feta, or your favorite)
  • ½ cup grilled chicken breast, sliced
  • A mix of fresh greens (romaine, spinach, arugula—choose your texture)
  • slice onion thin
  • nuts

Assembly
Lay the greens across the plate first—let them form the base. Then, side by side, layer the grilled chicken, sliced eggs, crisp bacon, and cheese. Each ingredient gets its own space. No mixing. No hiding. Just presence.
You can drizzle with your favorite dressing or leave it bare—the ingredients speak for themselves.

Why I Make It
This salad is about clarity. Each layer holds its own, and together they create something balanced. The eggs bring softness, the bacon adds crunch, the chicken grounds it, and the cheese comforts. It’s a plate that reflects structure and ease. I make it when I want to feel steady. When I want to offer something that says “I see you.”
