What’s the most profound piece of advice you’ve been given? Did you take it?

The most profound piece of advice I’ve ever been given is simple but powerful: everything in life has its own season. At first, it sounded like something people say just to make you feel better when things fall apart. But the more life unfolded, the more I realized how true it is. Nothing stays the same forever — not the good moments, not the hard ones, not the confusion, not the clarity. Life moves in cycles, and each season teaches something different.

This advice came at a time when I felt stuck, frustrated, and convinced that I was doing everything “right” but still not getting the results I wanted. Hearing that life has seasons reminded me that timing matters just as much as effort. You can plant the right seed, but if the soil isn’t ready, it won’t grow. That doesn’t mean the seed is bad. It just means the season isn’t right yet.

Another part of that advice was just as important: if things don’t work out, try a different approach. It sounds obvious, but it’s not. Most of us keep pushing the same way, hoping something will magically change. I used to do that too — repeating the same steps, expecting a different outcome, and wondering why I felt stuck. Learning to shift my approach was like learning to breathe again.

Taking that advice meant letting go of pride. It meant admitting that my way wasn’t the only way. It meant being flexible instead of stubborn. And honestly, that was hard. But once I started experimenting with new strategies, new mindsets, and new paths, things slowly began to open up. Not instantly, not dramatically, but steadily — like a new season quietly arriving.

I also learned that trying a different approach doesn’t mean giving up. It means evolving. It means being willing to grow instead of staying trapped in old patterns. Sometimes the smallest shift — a new habit, a new perspective, a new routine — can create the biggest change. Life rewards people who are willing to adapt.

Did I take the advice? Yes, eventually. Not perfectly, not immediately, but fully. And taking it changed the way I handle setbacks. Instead of seeing them as failures, I see them as signals. Signals that something needs to shift. Signals that a new season is coming. Signals that I’m being pushed toward something better.

Now, whenever life feels heavy or confusing, I remind myself that seasons don’t last forever. Winter doesn’t stay. Spring always returns. And if something isn’t working, I don’t force it anymore. I step back, breathe, and try a new approach. That mindset has saved me from frustration, burnout, and disappointment more times than I can count.

In the end, that advice taught me patience, resilience, and flexibility. It taught me that life isn’t about controlling everything — it’s about learning to move with the seasons instead of fighting them. And once you learn that, everything becomes a little lighter, a little clearer, and a lot more hopeful.
